Office Chair Challenge: Update
Well, we’re just over a week into Robert’s challenge and thought we owed it to you, the blog faithful, to post an update on his progress and to give you a picture of the hero himself. Look at his lovely face.
The story so far goes like this: Rob has raised an eye watering 20 quid and by his own admission is still reasonably over weight. Quite why his weight will affect his hitch hiking performance is hard to work out as he’ll mainly just be sitting down in other peoples’ vehicles not doing very much but he’s at an age where he still needs to care about his appearance, office chair or no office chair. So Robert has decided to get a fitness test and some dietary advice before heading off on his travels a trimmer version with just the right food. Basic physics would tell him the heavier he is the quicker he’s going to travel down the hill, so he should be stuffing his face rather than trying to be healthy and let’s face it fat blokes still get the girls, look at Biggie Smalls – really popular before he got hosed.
Results so far..
Anyway despite this slightly inauspicious start Robert has managed to ‘win’ two office chairs from Max Office which we will be testing on a suitably dangerous local hill and this practice will be essential if he’s going to make a decent fist of the race. What is the best starting technique? How do you steer it? Sitting up or lying down? We also need to keep Rob nice and safe so, somehow we’ve got to protect his body and head so if he does have a spill he doesn’t end up like a lump of strawberry jam and we don’t end up in chokey with a dead intern.
So, if you know where we can get some protective clothing or if you have any gravity racing tips for the boy wonder then please do get in touch.
